The FIFA World Cup (June 13–July 19) will bring road closures and significant congestion to NYC and NJ, described at nyc.gov/worldcupready and njdotworldcup.nj.gov.
If you make regular deliveries into Manhattan from Hunts Point or Red Hook, we have an alternative.
U.S. Coastal Service is partnering with last-mile logistics provider Net Zero Logistics and Empire Clean Cities to offer a waterborne freight + electric cargo quad service for last-mile delivery in traffic-restricted areas. Freight will arrive by ferry at E. 34th Street and be transferred to Fulpra Quatros for final delivery — bypassing the gridlock entirely.
Here’s how it will work:
- Freight is transported by ferry and received at the E. 34th Street ferry terminal
- From there, Fulpra Quatros handle last-mile delivery throughout midtown’s restricted zones
- Service will ramp up during the World Cup period to meet increased demand
